Navratri:

Navratri Utsav
is the great festival of Hindus, celebrated all over in India. Navaratri festival is dedicated to Devi Durga-Shakti. Navratri Utsav is the festival of nine nights as this festival’s meaning is hidden inside the word “Navratri”.
Nav means – Nine
Nights means – Ratri
Means “Navratri”

The 9 days, in the festival of Navratri, Goddess Durga takes her nine forms each day like
Durga,
Bhadrakali,
Amba or Jagadamba,
Annapurna,
Sarvamangala,
Bhairavi,
Chandika or Chandi,
Lalita
Bhavani

The each form of Durga Maa is worshipped with faith each day. People performs Aarti and offered “Naivedya-Prasad-Sweet food”. Every kinds of ceremonies are performed with traditions and customs.

During the nine nights most of the people do fasting and feasting for Maa Durga. In Gujarat, Navratri is the most awaited festival of the year therefore people come together and performs Garba and play Dandiya very gracefully.
